Question A tough request ...

because this is a rare Estes rocket indeed.

This is a mint Birdie but unfortunately I am missing a part.

I have a LL-2A Launch Lug, BT-5BJ body Tube and EB-5B Engine Block.

However I am missing the Die Cut Card TA-T 44.

Maybe, just maybe someone can help

Thanks,

Hi Leo. Sorry, can't help you with the card, but just wanted to say 'That is a great photo!'.

You can't make your own die cut card? Or, what about vendors such as SEMROC or BMS,
they may carry an equivalent part?

Nice pic (as usual, since I've always wondered how you make the background ).
I still have my original Estes Astron Birdie (purchased/built 1969) that was geared for the
"S" series engines, but can easily fly with the A10-3T (or even the plugged version) with a
plastic streamer taped and wrapped tightly around the motor until it fits snuggly in the short
BT-20....

Leo,

Are you building this or getting all the original parts?

The ring looks like an RA-560 with a notch for the launch lug.

If you have the estes paper adapter set it contains that ring. I think I spotted a set of two for the mini mars lander in the parts bin at my local hobby store. They were slightly thinner than your average cardstock ring, about the same as the paper adapter set. I hope this helps.

On a related note I've searched and searched looking for these shuttlecocks they used and can't find them. Does anyone know of a source?

If you need one of these I may be able to help.

PM me your name & mailing address & what it might be worth to you & I'll get back to you on it.

Thanks for the nice pic comments.

I think most know that I always prefer original Estes items when I build my old kits even if other manufactures have "clones".

Here is the missing part that I'm searching:

The kit is almost complete:

That is different than the other two Estes parts. The 18mm Birdie I have used a 20/60 sheet that was cut in half, I just asummed the 13mm followed suit.

Ok, I new this was going to be a tough one so now to plan B.

Could someone scan the below pictured card for me?

I will then see if I can find appropriate Estes parts.

I'm bumping this thread up as I still have not found a ring.

I would now take any kind of RA-560 ring as long it's an original and unused Estes item
