I remember when Fredi-G returned home from a trip he passed out gifts. when Fred gave Aunt Ester her gift, E ster held it up and said: Fred you cheep sucker this aint nothin but a piece of clear plastic. at witch time Fred replied: no it aint It's a fright mask for you to wear for holloween.

I remember that one. I laughed, but it was a few years before I knew wtf Ripple was. Then I REALLY laughed.

On one of my college beach trips, (possibly Daytuna, 1985,) one of the cable channels had Sanford and Son reruns right before dinner. We sat and watched them several times over the course of the week in various states of intoxication. Fred's even funnier after a few beers. So is Archie Bunker. "When a man is on a train of thought, a woman should get off the tracks."

I heard terms like Ripple and Thunderbird and always thought they were made up or slang terms - ie, "TV" terms - for alcohol. Then I saw actual liquor bottles with those brands on them. I was simultaneously shocked, amused and informed
