I realize this is a v.e.r.y. old thread, but wondering if anyone has this original Launch article that they could scan and post here. Bob? Anyone else??
I picked up a couple of Launch magazine issues when it was still in production, but never did subscribe and never had this issue. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Or, will buy an original issue if someone has this issue to sell. Earl

ENERJET propellant ( aka "APP60" ) . . . small Orange flame . . . no smoke . . . strong Chlorine smell . . . Polyurethane resin bunder . . . QUOTE : "APP60 was 80% AP, 20% Flexane 60. Polyether polyurethanes like Flexane have some oxygen in the binder so it didn't take a very high propellant "solids loading" to produce a smokeless exhaust. HTPB propellants have a higher amount of carbon in the polymer so a higher solids loading is required to simulate the same effect...in the range of 84-86%."
