I can?t be there, but maybe the following quote should be obligatory by each person upon seeing the other person?s Red Max.

I think many here will recall this little phrase!

NSL 2007 in Muncie. Worst motel I've ever seen. There was a bowling alley on the other side of the parking lot that was hosting a big tournament. When I came back to the motel, there was a guy staring sadly at the flat tire on his minivan. He had no idea how to change it, so I did it for him. He had a reservation in the same motel that I was in, and when I finished changing the tire, he told me he was leaving and sleeping on the floor of his teammates room rather than stay in the one I was in. He left in a hurry and I checked in and found out what an outhouse it was. I was building the Semroc VF-261 and I didn't feel safe going out into the courtyard after dark, so I just primed it in the bathroom. The paint fumes actually improved the smell of the room. I passed by the motel site in 2018 when I last flew in Muncie. It had been stripped down to a concrete shell.

NOOOOOOO!

I just had a flashback to NARAM-34 where I was the Contest Director.

During NARAM-34 I received a call to come to the hotel (Palace Station) manager's office.

I was informed by the hotel manager that their maid was cleaning a room used by one of the NARAM participants and discovered that the shower stall had paint on the walls.

My mind suddenly raced to recall if NAR insurance covered such a thing. What would the NAR President (Pat Miller) say/do if handed a bill for the damages?

The hotel manager went on to say she had spoken to the occupant of the room who agreed to pay for the damages ($400! The shower was one of those one-piece fiberglass units).

The hotel manager thanked me for coming to see her and just wanted to notify me about the incident. I left her office feeling very relieved.

As for the culprit, I will neither confirm or deny who it was other than to state that the individual is still involved in NAR competition.

That's why you have the water running in the shower and paint so the overspray goes into the water and gets washed down the drain.
