Default Rocksim Texture Issue ?

Has anyone had issues with Rocksim saving Texture settings? I've used the feature for the first time on my Falcon Rocket Racer and it doesn't seem to save all the settings.

I selected "Rotate around R-axis" for the Body Tube and V-Tail fins but it doesn't seem to save this setting correctly. Just curious if it is something I'm doing or a known "bug" with Rocksim. I am running the latest version of Rocksim.

Thanks,

... Bill

Yes. It's an annoying bug that I've been seeing since Version 7.

I'm not holding my breath about it being cleared up in V9, either. But maybe TVM has at least seen it and has his programming team working on it. One can hope...

Thumbs up New design: Premonition

There's no telling how rocketeers will inspire each other.

A year ago, our own James "JP" Pierson sent me a box wrapped in silver tape that contained a whole bunch of model rocketry supplies, including Estes body tubes, various bits of balsa, and... half a dozen... *ping pong balls.*

"--Shades of Shrox, Rocketman!"

And a couple of years ago, Jim commented about my SEMROC "Tau Zero" design: "I really think some ping pong balls are called for as well, two at least."

Here ya go, Jim. What went around is coming back around.

Those fins seem to be a tad familiar, too...

Good Dv numbers, and over 880' on a "C". Nice!

Premonition is now the 510th design in the official list.

Red face Oopsie! Premonition v.2

I was in such a hurry to upload the "Premonition" stuff last night I "forgot to remember" (as one of my girls said when she was littler) that the fins needed to be divided into the "main" fins and "trailing" fins.

So here's the slightly revised version. Oddly enough, that change slightly decreased the original altitudes.

At any rate, here's the update.

'Cause *you've* used 'em, or because *I've* used 'em?

*Wait.* This is that whole "using shapes that everybody knows" scenario, *isn't* it?

Cheers,

I'd stick with the one-piece fin for calculations. Building them from two or three pieces and then (as we do) covering them with label sheet, takes away the differences. Add this to the growing list of RockSim inconsistencies...

Go with the one-piece fin in the simulation...

Smile New Design: Space Cruiser Pacifica

Here we have a West Coast Cruiser design with the Space Cruiser Pacifica. Please notice the
crew and passenger areas are far forward of the engine areas in the event of an power emergency . My main concern with this particular design is the elongated nose cone at ejection. This elongated nose cone may make the "Estes Dent" problem a minor one if it contacts the BT at ejection. Two seperate chutes may be the answer if a problem occurs.

Smile New Design: Sky Fury

This next design, Sky Fury, has an interesting sci-fi look to it. My goal lately has been to
design in Rocksim using all "off the Semroc Shelf" parts for ease of building. I always try
to keep the builder in mind when designing and try to steer away from the unavailable custom parts.
This design should be a fun build for most any skill level.
