I added some 1/8" dowels to simulate the external piping.

I also used some small launch lugs to engage these dowels to lock the 1st to 2nd stages together so as the rocket spins (due to the canted fins) the stages will stay aligned. If there was slippage the fuses could get yanked out of the 2nd stage motors.

I toyed with installing a working Launch Escape System tower. But the smallest available BP motor was still a bit too large for this 1/132 scale.

I turned the LES motor from a 3/4" dowel and made it so it would dowel into the Command Module.

This makes for a pretty rigid structure.

I used Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Filler to cover up cracks and divots.

Being a fan of Rustoleum... I used their Automotive Primer followed by Flat White

For the roll pattern I used data that I found on the Apogee Components site for their 1/70 scale Saturn V.

Ez2cDave supplied some excellent scale data that helped also.

I located a wrap around template for a Saturn 1B Service Module and scaled it to fit the 1/132 scale. I used wood glue to attach it to the flat white primer.

Clear coat gloss in preparation for decals. A bit windy today... used the woodshed as a windbreaker.

Ok, yeah, that is a great deal slower than I thought it’d be. What is the estimated launch weight? In any event, good luck with the project! Should be quite a show to see it go.

I’ve long wanted to three stage a Centuri Saturn V (and two stage a Saturn 1b). Just completed construction on a vintage Centuri Saturn V, but I want this one to be a ‘clean’ single-stager to replace my first Centuri Saturn V which I retired years ago. But a three-stager may be next. I have really, really been wanting to build a scale Mobile Launcher/Tower for my Centuri Saturns, which will be a decent undertaking, but a multi-stage Saturn is a fetching project, too!

Good luck!

Earl

Just don't use ANY "Acme" motors.
Those always explode.

When I first saw the title I thought it said "1/32 scale". THAT would be a really big Saturn V
