Default Eastern Coyotes.

Eastern Coyotes.
My favorite T.V. show comes on six nights a week.
New Hampshire Chronical.
Each night they feature a different part of NH but broadcast from one location in NH for that week.
I often seek out the location just to say I was there.
Lately, they have been to places that I have explored before they have.
Cool.
Tonight they featured Eastern Coyotes.
The Eastern Wolf was killed off many years ago here in New Hampshire.
Now they want to do the same thing with the Eastern Coyotes.
October 31, 2011, I was staying at my brother's house due to an extreme snowtober.
We lost power at my place for over five days.
While at my brother's house, we got a visit from an Eastern Coyote.
It was acting strange, wandering in circles, licking the snow, relieving itself, and just acting strange.
My guess was it had rabies and mange.
I called the local police, which said to call NH Fish and Game.
They (He)showed up three hours later.
He quickly assessed the situation and went to his truck for his Glock rifle.
He went to the back yard and put down the animal.
I did not enjoy that situation.
The Ranger put on gloves and picked up the dead animal and put the animal in back of his pickup truck.
I asked if he would let me know about the animal.
I never heard from him.
I do not like watching an animal being put down.
But unfortunately it happened.
I had forgot about this until tonight.
Sad night.

Where I live in N. Illinois we have several dens of coyotes and foxes. They’re a nuisance but if we didn’t have them here we would be overrun with cottontail rabbits.

We tend to leave the coyotes and foxes alone unless a sick or injured animal shows up.

We have so many Coyotes around here now they are often seen running along freeways during the daytime. Total nuisance that have no season limits in Michigan just like Raccoon and Opossum.

Never heard of a Glock rifle, but am a fan of their 10mm Auto and 357 Sig pistols.
Would never be without a trusty 10mm.

Glock is supposed to be coming out with a rifle, but in 2011 there was no such thing as a Glock rifle.

……now if we could just get the coyotes to put a clothespin on their noses and put skunks on their menu. The last I heard, N. Illinois had the largest skunk population in the US. Yippee.

I know someone who wished that coyotes could be introduced on Long Island's barrier islands, to take out the feral cat population that was doing a number on the bird population.

But coyotes are adaptable, and might start catching birds themselves. Maybe with a net.

If you see one carrying an Anvil or ANYTHING "Acme" or "Ajax" , run and hide. Quickly.

Why? It is just going to backfire on him anyway, injure him, and totally miss his target. That would be something to watch.
