There is a long, active RC Groups thread about them as well, but I didn't go back far enough to see if anyone in the US is getting Enya engines and parts anywhere but on eBay. They appear to be available in other parts of the world. It looks like the main difference from the Enyas I remember seeing in shops many years ago is that they now have an angled up and back needle valve assembly which gets knuckles a little further from the prop, especially on smaller engines. added: after poking around on the site a bit (and invoking Google Translate to read some pages) I'm wondering if this may be a reseller or someone who is liquidating old inventory rather than the actual manufacturer still being active. Oh well.....

I am working on a history of MRC to the point where it ends with the closing of the Concept II rocket line.
It's going to be awhile before it is ready for me to post. Model Rectifier Corporation (MRC) was founded in 1947. As Bob (Blushingmule) noted MRC started out as a company producing power supplies for trains and later slot cars. Their equipment had a good reputation and I believe it still does. In the 1970s MRC was looking to branch out into more areas of the hobby industry and sought out licensing agreements with other companies all over the world. These included Rossi engines among other companies. But the big fish was Tamiya. It was the dawn of the electric power R/C car and Tamiya cars were popular in Japan. MRC worked out a deal with Tamiya to import the R/C car models and repackage the kits with English instructions. To say these kits were a big hit was an understatement. I worked in a hobby shop from 1985-1986. The store would receive cases of Grasshoppers, Hornets, Frogs, etc. and they would all be gone in a few days. This was pre-internet so it was all by word-of-mouth and (sometimes) daily phone calls from customers. The sales margins on the cars was low but we sold a lot of them. My store would go weeks, sometimes months between shipments of Tamiya/MRC cars. The cars were hard to get but spare/replacement parts were down-right non-existent. The Frog car had a weak frame which would break just behind the forward shock upright. We would sell 40-50 Frogs a month (When we could get them) but only get two or three Frog replacement frames in the same time. Lots of unhappy Frog customers. Back to MRC. Besides the R/C cars, MRC also imported Tamiya plastic models, paints, tools, Tamtech R/C cars (think of R/C slot cars without the slot), model magazine, and other Tamiya items. MRC was making a boatload of money and wanted to get into another aspect of hobbies and their eyes turned to model rocketry but that's a story for later. In the late 1980s MRC lost the Tamiya license and came out with their own-brand R/C cars, imported the Academy line of model kits plus other moves. MRC is still alive and well in New Jersey.

Enya 4-strokes were competitive with the same from O.S., but not so their 2-strokes.
O.S. 2-stroke side Exhaust FSR and SF and VF/RF rear-exhaust Schneurles smoked similar offerings by Enya. Virtually NOBODY ran Enyas in pattern aircraft in the 70s thru early 90s. The power just wasn't there. Now a Rossi, that's an entirely different animal.

Wow, that's a quarter in the way-back machine.
My favorite engine was an old Enya .40XTV that I upgraded with an 8mm carburator. I still have it along with a replacement ring. They were tough, solid, reliable, turned a Rev-Up 10x6 at 12,000 all day on 10% fuel. Funny you guys mentioned Enya, as I was wondering just the other day what happened to them. Enya was started by a pair of brothers who must be long dead by now. I hope the company still exists. Sounds like an internet research project. . . .

One of the in interesting things on that Enya site I linked to above is a diesel version of the Enya .36 four stroke. I wasn't aware that there were any model diesels that were four-strokes.

I still have 2 OS . 40 FSRs. The ringed one turns about 13,500 on a 10x6 APC, the ABC one usually close to 14,000 on a good day.
My . 46 VF ABCs turn well over that, but have tuned pipes. 12,000 is ok, but not "pattern performance". Most that have Enyas say they run forever.
