+1 to what Earl and Astronwolf just said.
We do not have enough information about your product to give you an informed decision.
What I can say is if it is any sort of hybrid, tribrid, liquid, or other weird format propellant, I'm NOT interested.
Hassle level too high.

If it is a composite solid propellant, I probably would be interested.

I personally do NOT care if motors are "certified" or not by NAR or Tripoli as long as they are LEGAL to use. We have Legal fireworks in Michigan that contain up to 500g of BP.
Seems it would be much easier to just call them fireworks.

Your motors last appeared at East Coast launches around 15 years ago where there was private insurance and the AHJ was supportive. The vendor seems willing to provide them again, so have the vendor bring them and announce where they will be. Judge the market by the rate of sales. Don't put something in the mail to some poor sucker because you 'know' it's OK.

I and I assume others are sick to death of vaporware motor announcements. The happiest times were when Estes brought out 29mm bp motors with no fanfare - just put the motors where their mouth is.

Jerry,

Are you ever going to fix your website? Are you out of business?

Btw, here is a good article on NASA’s Peregrine rocket. A hybrid that uses paraffin and nitrous oxide. https://www.nasa.gov/feature/ames/f...roves-its-worth

Hybrids are impractical for 99% of the hobby rocketry community.
Wayyyyyyyyyy too much hassle.

Yep, the under wins.
No details=Vaporware.

It is impossible to do valid market research with next to ZERO product details.

Jerry always posts these cryptic messages. No web presence anymore.
Have no idea what he's talking about, but if it is just for HP, I'm not the least bit interested. Wish he would post normal, easy to follow posts.
Why the mystery??? So annoying...
Sorry, Jerry

Allen

Thank you for the helpful comment. The website and all my websites are offline. I am shipping orders to existing customers and approving each order based on inventory. I posted elsewhere we shipped about 50 kits this week, some each MR, LMR, HPR.

We continue to restock parts.

If I proceed on this motor project at all I would start out with a 29mm 4.5" motor. That is exempt from DOT/ATF/FAA/NFPA/NAR. There is no reason why NAR could not do a shelf check of a shipping product and publish the technical results. They would pass all normal S&T rules except being classified as an explosive with EX numbers. Therefore I believe they are beyond the scope of both NFPA and NAR.

It is not happening this week or this year, sorry Mark, you win. But I did get final approved designs of the production units, completed the DOT work, am in progress of slightly improving FAA regulations, and working out how to do igniters and ejections. Igniters seem likely to also be exempt and ejections regulated. So initially the product would come with a user installed ejection in a separate package.

Thank you for your feedback, gents.

Jerry
