I lucked out and acquired three over the years. One is built, awaiting paint, one still in the box, and one I sent at Christmas to a friend in Texas that had flood damage from the hurricane a couple years ago, and lost his home last year to floods from heavy rains.

I really felt that any “minor setbacks” I might have had in my life were nothing compared to what he and his wife lost.

And ... no reason to have that many, at the rate I’m building Saturns.

Very satisfying build. Here is a shot with the subassemblies temporarily put together. They will get separately painted and then reassembled.

Considering things like - The State of Ohio, via our Lt. Governor, is not making known the number of unemployment applications that have been made recently. Saying only that the number is "unprecendented" and that the State has agreed to a request from the White House to not release the figures. My take on that is to minimize the risk of full blown panic.

So if they can do that, then what else? Death toll in China? It's plausible....

My company decided to reopen on Thursday based on other Foundries in Pennsylvania getting a essential business wavier. They were denied a wavier on their first submission but have an appeal in the queue.

BTW I currently take the supposed "game changer" drug Hydroxychloroquine for Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have about a three months supply left but I hope I am still able to get it when I run out.

In all of this mess--a happy moment!

One of the residents of Aurora canvased the neighborhood looking for 1/4" elastic fabric because she and her friends are making face masks for first responders. Apparently Walmart, Target, etc. are out of it and all the other craft stores and HL are closed.

I gave her 200 feet of 1/4" shock cord.

Wow, the face mask sewing project is everywhere. My wife just sewed 10 or so. She cleared me out of the flat elastic, but I’ve got a lot of small round bungee I’ve been using.

This is history repeating itself. My mother was a little girl during WWII and she would collect milkweed fluff to be used to stuff life jackets for the Navy.

Friend of mine is a 3D printer hobbyist. He started making plastic shields that can be worn over the face mask to block cough/sneeze spittle from getting on it. He's already sent 40-50 to local first responders and another 40-50 to a local ER.

Yeah, this is tame compared to WW II. My mom told me about nightly blackouts so that enemy aircraft could not use city lights as a beacon for bombing raids. Rationing of gasoline and food items. Nightly curfews. Precious metals diverted to the war effort (remember steel pennies?)
Our parents survived years of this. We can survive a few months. This too shall pass.

Yes, and collecting peach pits for gas masks was something my grandparents and oldest of my aunts and uncles did for WWI. My parents were a little younger and were teens during WWII, but lived in rural W. TN where they didn't have anything much to ration in the first place. My father turned 18 and joined the Navy. While on the train to California for basic, WWII ended. He was discharged after a month or two there.
