Default Xarconian Cruiser

Finally finished up the Estes Xarconian Cruiser I bought just under two years ago and started assembling nearly one year ago. Modified for 24 mm power.

I have finished some really nice builds lately, and will post pictures soon, but after looking at these pictures it's almost "Why bother?" Just beautiful.

With a couple of these in the build pile it will be cool to see how it flies on 24mm. With a modicum of nose weight could it handle D, E, F and possibly G composites?

Don't hold your breath on that G... I built this with a thrust ring and a short motor hook; I have no desire to fly it on anything above a D or maybe a composite E.

That is gorgeous! I'd never be able to fly that.

Rich,

I like the white "belly". What did you use to mask the curved area up near the nose? Those are tough to do and get tape to lay down tightly, unless maybe you cut a mask in a wider piece of tape.

I use Tamiya masking tape, and have a really narrow roll of it, but have not tried anything beyond a gentle curve.

Scotch tape. I laid out several pieces stuck together and cut the shape before transferring it to the airframe.
