"The Vixen" paints a jagged camo V2
"The Vixen" has painted a butt-load of V2 rockets in the operational "jagged" camo scheme for me, but I've never done a thread on the process.
Therefore: First I assemble, finish, primer, and paint an Estes #3228 V2 rocket. The final top coat is gloss white enamel. After the paint has dried and degassed for several days I draw out the camo pattern with a pencil and mark the sections for "dark", "light", and white. The white sections will be where the small pieces of blue tape are now. The paints she'll be using are Testor's Model Master enamels Panzer Dunkelgelb 1943 #2095 and Dunkelgrun RLM 71 #2081. TBC

Next, using a blade and a steel ruler she prepares slits of Scotch Delicate Surface painter's tape (orange core) for masking the paint lines.
The Panzer Dunkelgelb will be first. She maskes out the pattern for the color and then paints the first (of 3) coats of the enamel with a 1/4" sable artist's brush. TBC

(2) coats later, the Dunkelgelb portions are finished and the strips of tape are removed.

After the Dunkelgelb dries for at least 24 hours, she masks out and then paints (3) of the Dunkelgrun.

All of the painting is finished and the strips of masking tape are removed! I'll let the model degas over the weekend and then apply Sandman's operational round decals. TBC

You're a fortunate man, Jeffy. Thanks for posting this. Before, I'd have been hesitant to brush paint a model. I may have to try her technique down the road. Great post.
A tip 'o the hat to the "Vixen."
