Default 2.50 OD clear plastic tubing?

Does anyone know of a source for 2.5 inch OD clear plastic tubing? I have a desire to take one of the on-sale at Fry's Estes Partizon kits and make 2.5 upscale Nova Payloader out of it. But the critical piece would be the clear payload section. Any ideas, anyone?

That stuff would be heavy...and a squeeze for the nose cone shoulder....but it's a start. Funny - when I did a Google search for 2.5 inch clear plastic tubing, my post just like this one on TRF came up on the first page. Funny, that.

You mean the one with ten views and not a single reply? That's bang for your buck.

I just Googled it. That is funny. Well good luck. That's a neat idea for a project you have going there if you can get the right type of tubing you want.

I happen to have a Nova Payloader in my current fleet. It's been built for almost a year and has never left the ground. I don't deserve to own it with that sort of neglect. I might have to remedy that pretty soon.

Are the PSII kits BT80ish sized ? or actual 2.5" od ? ( have not picked any up = $$ )

I got some thin walled 2.5" id tubing from McMaster Carr that loosely fits a BT80 cone, Semroc BT80HD cone had correct od, so it can be made to work.

Astronot: go fly it! I have 47 flights on mine and it's looking pretty ratty, but it still flies nicely.

tmacklin: that should work very well - it would be an almost perfect match with the body tubing with just a slightly thinner wall (.008 thinner). That is easily coped with.
