Default A Mini-Airshow today!

Collings Foundation is in town today until Wednesday noon. They fly around the country with a B-17G, a B-24J, and a P-51C Mustang. They are parked at Manchester Airport near the museum. While I was gawking at the planes, a USAF C-130 Herky-Bird flew in for several T & G's. A few minutes later, a USAF KC-135 Tanker show up to join the fun. This went on for almost an hour and wouldn't you know it I forgot my camera. I'll take some shots tomorrow.

Update -9/17/13:

I took these this A.M.

2 more.

The Mustang was still sleeping in a hanger. I'll get it this afternoon.

Too bad the Collings Foundation was not flying their F-4 Phantom.
THAT is a sight to see.

I still say the B-17 is one of the most beautiful beasts ever created. The cockpit and nose alone says "I am a bomber to be reckoned with!"

Hint #1: Do not use magician's flash paper for recovery wadding!

Hint #2: Clean your shoes after flyin' in that cow pasture - that ain't no dirt clod on the sole!

I feel the same way about the F-4 Phantom.
That aircraft is ALL BUSINESS and screams "wanna fight ?"

Here you go for the P-51. No still shots, it was facing away from the crowd on purpose.
Check out the video of the P-51 taxiing in and turn up the sound!

Sorry.
