More work on the fin section. Since the fins are glassed balsa and tacked down with 5 min epoxy...I decided to glass them down. If you don't make a mess...you too can glass on the kitchen counter. Lots of sanding and fill to come.

I sanded enough to apply primer. Then fill, sand and so on.

Work on the LEM Shroud/ Command Mudule Stack

Various parts laid out. 3" Loc tube, cut down 5.38 tube coupler, 5.38 stiffy tube section, and centering rings.

Centering ring mounted flush to the bottom of the Loc 3" tube. T-nuts installed.

Assembly tacked with CA. The bottom plate was added to recess the centering ring and then removed before epoxy was applied.

I glued 2 centerings together. One fits inside the stiffy tube and the other is beveled to accept the shroud.

The shroud was added and since it is just made out of poster board...I decided to give it 1 wrap of 4oz cloth and West Systems.

A shot of the bottom plate. I'll be able to access the nose cone to adjust the CG.
All glassed and sanded to date.

The wraps were applied and all the little fidgity bits were made and glued in place.
