I can assure you, the decals on the fins and wings of this Interceptor E are NOT pressure-sensitive!

Hence:

Thanks for all of the comments. I think that the biggest problems is not being able to reposition the decal after a few seconds as i start to align it. I guess this is a problem with the QCC Explorer that has the long intake decals on the sides. By the time they are laid out completely they begin to dry and then repositioning is a problem- I'll try adding a few drops of liquid soap. Part of this is that the task of building rockets has matured so much since the time I started building them (~1964-65). The object was to launch asap. I picked up the hobby again when my kids were young and they too - were interested in launching although we spent time and took pride in what we were building. After returning once again (in the last few months), I see that building and finishing the rockets has developed into what is part crafting and part art.

Are there any brands of liquid mask that people recommend? After seeing the picsof the rockets posted on this site- I'm in awe.

Micro Scale liquid decal film. LHS's and Hobbytown USA usually carries it. Hobby Lobby does not. Of course it can be purshased on line also.

If your decals are thin, filmy, or unmanageable (like a lot of them are now,) it's the stuff to use.

Default quick question

Is the microscale a setting solution for the decals or a masking medium? Thanks again for all of the help.

Micro Scale offers a total decals system which includes setting solution, decal preservative, and a liquid mask. Try their website for details on the products Micro Sol, Set, and Mask.

Micro scale liquid decal film is a coating to make decals thicker. Micro Set is a setting solution to make tdecals "snuggle" into contours and over features, i.e. rivets, etc.
