Default Estes Igniter Plug Colors - List

I have a little chart showing which engines go with which color igniter plugs. I printed it on sticky paper and stuck it on top of my igniter and plug box. I've relied upon it for years.

At last week's launch I noticed it was getting a little worn. So I re-did it and thought it might be of use to others. So I've attached it here.

Excellent idea! I will print this out and place one in my range box. Thanks!

Nice and more succinct than a similarly-intended chart I got on TRF some time ago. An update/addition: E12s (24mm) use the yellow plug, as do 1/2A6s (18mm).

C5 has not been made in decades, so drop it or else add the similarly out of production B8.

As previously pointed out, add the E12 and specify that the E9 I he one with the black plug (i.e. don't just say "24mm E")

And the D11 also uses the white plug.

Thanks for the advice. I've replaced the original attached PDF with a revised one.

It's funny, I didn't want to go to the basement to dig through my motors to find some E12s, so I just used the info from the Estes site, which is incorrect.

Great chart, Steve.
Thanks !

One thing; I personally think you should have left the reference to the Blue Plug in the chart for the C5/B8/B14; it fits all three motors for those of us that have 'stashes' of old OOP motors we still fly.
I probably have at least 30 B5's and B14's still and have more than that in the C5-3. I would imagine my collection is rather small compared to others.

The instructions that come with the motor packs have the chart on them... I just cut it out of there and taped it inside the lid off my motor box in the part I store ignitors in...

Works for me and no need to print anything out...

Later! Ol JR

I've done both, but I have an 8 1/2X11 version of the chart I alluded to above (posted by Gary Byrum) in a sheet protector that I put out on the table at club launches for folks to refer to. The chart in the motor instruction sheets is pretty tiny....

Same here.

OTOH it would be nice to have a big chart we can tape to the RSO table at club launches and point at while saying "Look, since you're too busy to read the instructions . . . "

Stefan,

Here is where Gary Byrum posted a large version of his take on the plug chart: http://www.rocketryforum.com/showth...6721#post566721

This is the one I mentioned in my prior post.
