![]() LOL! In this case, a valid cause (orbital debris abatement), but the wrong person and the hype isn't needed.

![]() As these things go, there won’t be much done with orbital debris until something strikes the ISS (or other manned craft) and causes near or actual mortal injuries. Short of that, we (as a human whole) don’t tend to react strongly to ‘threats’. At least this western culture (US) doesn’t.

Totally disagree with that. When it comes to CO2 mitigation, exactly the opposite is true. See graph below. Unlike anthropogenic catastrophic climate change which most certainly is NOT "agreed upon by 97% of climate scientists" and which China (building two new coal fired plants PER WEEK) and India are NOT complying with with respect to CO2 mitigation, debris in orbit is an ACTUAL hazard to ALL spacefaring nations and they know that. Now that capable nations have shown they can do anti-sat stuff, that act is now hugely frowned upon. When it comes to reducing debris from such things as spacecraft separation from launchers, something that there was no effort made to reduce in the past, that is being done and is EASY to do. That said, I see the huge constellations of sats in the various schemes to provide internet access as a growing hazard and if a huge tonnage to orbit market which doesn't currently exist actually materializes for Musk's Starship, then that will get even worse. These are hard to find because they DON'T fit the narrative. For instance, this one is four years old: https://www.treehugger.com/thmb/WJL...d8fc8a3ec10.jpg Interview showing that this effort is absolutely brain-dead: UK power systems engineer: NetZero cannot be taken seriously - 24 Jul 2023 https://rumble.com/v321hj4-why-netz...-seriously.html "Go with more expensive energy you stupid western SUCKERS! BTW, how'd you like that virus?" China is building six times more new coal plants than other countries, report finds - March 2, 2023 https://www.npr.org/2023/03/02/1160...ries-report-fin "Everybody else is moving away from coal and China seems to be stepping on the gas," she says. "We saw that China has six times as much plants starting construction as the rest of the world combined."

![]() Reading list:
Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All - 2020 National Bestseller. Blurb: Climate change is real but it’s not the end of the world. It is not even our most serious environmental problem. Michael Shellenberger has been fighting for a greener planet for decades. He helped save the world’s last unprotected redwoods. He co-created the predecessor to today’s Green New Deal. And he led a successful effort by climate scientists and activists to keep nuclear plants operating, preventing a spike of emissions. But in 2019, as some claimed “billions of people are going to die,” contributing to rising anxiety, including among adolescents, Shellenberger decided that, as a lifelong environmental activist, leading energy expert, and father of a teenage daughter, he needed to speak out to separate science from fiction. Despite decades of news media attention, many remain ignorant of basic facts. Carbon emissions peaked and have been declining in most developed nations for over a decade. Deaths from extreme weather, even in poor nations, declined 80 percent over the last four decades. And the risk of Earth warming to very high temperatures is increasingly unlikely thanks to slowing population growth and abundant natural gas. Curiously, the people who are the most alarmist about the problems also tend to oppose the obvious solutions. What’s really behind the rise of apocalyptic environmentalism? There are powerful financial interests. There are desires for status and power. ------------ This one CLEARLY shows with innumerable examples that it’s a scientifically unsupportable, political and economically driven fraud: The Politically Incorrect Guide to Climate Change – 2018 ------------ The next one, “False Alarm,” is very interesting because the author assumes the climate models are correct, but then goes on to prove with copious facts and analysis that not only are the predicted dire consequences wrong, but also that any changes can be FAR more cheaply and effectively countered by active ADAPTATION than by radical (and pretty much hopeless thanks to India and China) attempts at CO2 reduction. And rather than trying to radically and suddenly end fossil fuel use, something he points out will inevitably be catastrophic, count on a market driven (monetary savings driven) increases in the efficiency of their use as well as a natural increases in their price with time making alternative energy more economically practical WITHOUT subsidies. False Alarm – 2021
