Welcome to YORF, Michael. Unfortunately, the old software I use here doesn't keep the pics in order when you go to post them.

I usually have to upload pictures one at a time to keep them in order. That should work, but YMMV.

In your fifth photo it looks like your rocket did a face plant and then the ejection charge went off. Is that what happened?
And I echo what the other guys said..........welcome to YORF. Always happy to see new members. I think you'll like it here! |

Ok! Thanks to all guys. Yeah my launch area is a bit odd, I'm lauching very heavy rockets on smaller motors! I can and thought too about just posting one picture at a time. I'm used to the RocketryForum.com been over there for about 10 years. But have a few nicer ones than the Big Daddy! Thanks guys! I love rocketry I'll have to look around the site! Welcome to the world of old fart rocketry. I'm guessing that the bulk of us in here have had Big Daddy drama over the years. I had two episodes with my first one, the first being a roof landing when I flew it on a D12-3 at B6-4 Field. (There's a reason it's called that.) The homeowner lent me his ladder, I got the rocket and cleaned out his gutters as a thank you. (He was elderly. Would have fit right in here.) About a month later I had a D12 with a gutless ejection charge and almost skewered a Mazda. (The owner said "That would have been COOL!") Crumpled the top half, but it still flies on occasion. A couple of years back I had a D12 without an ejection charge in my Estes SPEV. It's now shaped like this ?. They're out there. BEWARE!!!
Also, let me add a thank you for providing us with actual modroc content. It's in short supply around here, but we have movie reviews.

I'm still figuring this forum out! I'll try to answer everyone. Built this Big Daddy back in 2013, never had a successful flight. Recently got an old collection back and gave it some mods! My current launch area is very small, ill post some more info in the appropriate threads with my other builds but almost lost a Cherokee-Eon a C6-5!. Hopefully this picture goes thru this time!? I've been sitting here for 10 mins trying to respond, its me not the site! Ill answer any more questions I can!

That was the first test flight. You can see, I tried to out them in order, but you can see the difference in weather in the first post. Having trouble posting pics now, keeps saying its an unspecified link. Ill figure it out here inma second and post more pics of it. But that lawn dart was happening during tornadoes and I forgot to use wadding or dog barf, and the chute protector did its job, but unfortunately burnt a hole in the handmade protectors I make. Ill just try to post pics below with no text or quotes... |
