The Quasar Citation started kit was my introduction to model rocketry. My dad got me one when I was about 10 years old. 1st we launched it on an A8-3 in a parking lot behind a shopping mall on a Sunday. (Back then, shopping malls were closed on Sundays). I chased it down and ran it back to him. 2nd launch was on a C engine. We lost sight of it. As we were driving around the parking lot to leave, we found it. The ejection charge didn't deploy. It came in hot, and the nose cone was destroyed and half the body tube was crumpled. I was on the verge of crying, and my dad said "Don't worry Pauly, we'll get you another one". Hence, here I am, a 58 y/o man, on a rocket forum, with around 40 built kits, and about 200 more I will eventually get to. Lol.
A year after me, my best friend Charles got a Quasar. It had a white nose cone and white fin can. I didn't say anything, but I was sure his kit was defective.
