Well, let's see. I'm 50 years old, 5'10", brown hair, brown eyes. Oh, wait... You wanted the tall, pointy LTV Scout info.
Don't say it, Bill....

"Magnetosphere Satellite" . . . ??? I think that stated orbit is outside the "published" capabilities of the Scout, isn't it ? "HETS" ??? https://www.google.com/#fp=4988b9b3...sfer+Stage%2 2 |

Peter Alway documented that Blue Scout Jr. round in his "Rockets of the World 2000 Supplement" booklet (see: http://www.arapress.com/rotw_sup2000.php - ARA Press and NARTS both carry it, as well as Peter's other books). It flew what must be the most distant suborbital flight ever made, three-quarters of the way to the Moon's orbit--but a payload failure resulted in no data being transmitted back to Earth! The unguided Blue Scout Jr. had more than enough performance to orbit a satellite but was never used to do that. Even though it was unguided (being spin-stabilized), it could have done it via proper timing of the ignition of its motors (the U.S. Navy's air-launched, unguided NOTSNIK vehicle used this method; due to the primitive tracking facilities back in 1958 [plus the secrecy of the project], it is unknown if any of them reached orbit).
