Before I go any further, I have to warn you these are BUILDER'S KITS and they are more challenging than your average 3FNC. If either of those things scare or bother you, then read no further.

First up is the Bomarc A. This is a 24mm-powered, BT-60 variant. Same semi-scale appearance as the Estes Bomarc, but way more fun looking thanks to the sexy ramjets!

I used stickers from stickershock23 to mark mine in Canadian colors. The historians in the crowd will correctly point out that Canada bought the Bomarc B, not the A. Well, sue me. The A-model just looks so cool, and I needed some maple leafs in my collection.

Next up is the Rheintochter R1. The historians know this was an early German surface-to-air missile. By the time the missile was being developed, metals were in short supply in Germany - so "non-strategic" materials like wood were used when possible. That's what makes this model so fun. The skilled woodworkers on the forum might be drawn to the idea of natural wood fins. I sure was!

As for the model, it uses dual-24mm motors in the booster. Clever ducting channels gasses to a single 24mm sustainer. The booster adapter also splits open at staging so a parachute can bring the somewhat spindly booster down safely (I hope.... Not flown yet).

I will credit their bomarc as the wing is in the right location not just glued to the top of the tube.

Those are great looking builds! I've been holding off since I still haven't started the R-360, but that's the best looking Bomarc kit I think I've ever seen. I just visited Hanger C at Cape Canaveral a couple weeks ago, and it got me itching to do some scale building.

Ah - thank you! I meant to mention that. Not only is the wing in the right place, Robert provides a locating guide / jig. Two 3D-printed parts slip over the top of the tube and "grab" the wing while the glue dries. Helps ensure the wing is "flat." There's also one internal ring that "grabs" the wing halves from the inside. As long as you cut the wing slots in the right place (as with the F-104, the Bomarc's nose cone has the tube marking guide etched into the shoulder), you'll get a good result. Very impressive kit-building engineering.

I have purchased several of his kits, currently finishing up his X-15 model. Quality 3D printed and CNC parts.

Is that based on a BT-80?

Yes, it is BT-80. The fins are CNC plywood, all the other parts are 3D printed. I'm using the Apogee decals. He also can send you ORK files and a bunch of historical documentation. You need to supply a body tube, nose weight etc.

It is definitely more scale than the Apogee kit, which I consider sport-scale. The 3D parts do require some work to get smooth, but with some work they come out nice.
