Default Range Box Questions

Does anyone know what metal tackle box Estes or Centuri used for their range box?

Centuri used the metal Union tackle box, Model 2311. Had one plastic (typcially white plastic) tray. The one used in their catalog images was a red-orange.

Here is one on eBay in kind of rough shape:

I have one in pretty decent shape, but have been looking for a 'pristine' one for a few years now.

That thing on ebay is beyond "rough" and has ventured into "roach".
Probably could be restored with a good cleaning and repaint.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC !

I want to think we figured out the Estes box way back near the beginning of YORF as well, but I may just be remembering discussion on the Centuri Plano.

Somebody bought the "roach". It's gone!

The only thread I could find discusses the cardboard range boxes from Centuri and Estes.....Did I miss something in my search?

I remember talking about them here in some thread, but I don’t recall which thread or general subject it was. I recall posting a photo of my Union model 2311 red orange box stocked with all the same Centuri items that came in the range box if purchased from the Centuri catalog, but I cannot even find the photo in MY files. It’s in one of my 16 ‘Canon Photos’ folders, but I don’t know which one…….

It was sometime in the past 4-5 years, as I recall.

Found the previous thread I was thinking about.

Link: https://www.oldrocketforum.com/show...+tackle+Centuri

It was a discussion about some items being sold by Belleville Hobby. Several messages throughout the thread talk about the range box. See post 51 for a photo of my ‘Centuri’ Union box with items in it.

Just read that thread, thank you very much. Did you ever get the Centuri Wood glue bottle for your box?
