Years ago, Quest offered a short pack, mainly the nose cone and the plans on their web site.
I ordered these and got decals elsewhere.
I have been flying my Quest X-15 for over ten years.
I use the 11 inch tube and placed four pads of clay in the nose for balanced.
She flies just fine unless it gets hit by a rouge wind upon liftoff.
Quest still offers the X-15 nose cone and I recommend you buy yourself a few.
I know I will.

Still available.
Not just the nose cone:

All you need is the airframe, motor mount and recovery gear.

Your right.
That's what I got from Quest.
Age affects memory, I don't know!
Thanks for that.

I's a great looking builders' kit, and you can't beat the price.
Thanks for bringing it to everyone's attention.
I went with a 14" tube for better stability.

I've finished applying the decals on my Apogee X-15 and I have a question:

The yellow "delta" decal on both sides of the PNC have a circle--but no meatball in the circle. Would the NASA meatball decals that I have showing be correct? The size of the meatball decals is almost perfect to scale.

Yes although post flight most of the photos show that the blue meatball had burned off and I think that's why they just include the yellow decal by itself I think that's also the way it's shown in the air and space museum, I think you might have the decal upside down the little black stripe that's on the decal should be at the top of the model...photos attached

CRAP!! I do have the black stripe wrong! That's what I get for trusting the instructions instead of the facts!

They had their star/bar on the wing upside down as well and were missing the fuse star/bar on both sides, just one side shown initially, not sure if they ever fixed that, I did email them when I saw it.

You know this is a good reason to buy another one and a backup for that one.
