Default Canaroc Nomad Boost Glider

Okay....kinda late to be a build thread since I've got it completed.

Anyway, the first picture is the parts-before-I-start shot....mainly the glider. Although I've got a vintage kit, I put this together from acguired parts. The original wings are actually the two halfs already cut for you. The same with the sabilizer. For me, it's just easier to sand an airfoil for the entire wing and then cut it in half so that's what I did.

The second picture shows the completed model (except for the nose cone that I've got to see if someone can turn per Canaroc P-100). If I can't get one turned, I'll just stick some close to original style BT-20 nose cone on it.

It rained all week here (obviously I'm not in California) so my trimming consisted of some light tossing in the living room. Seemed like it might work ok. But today was nice and sunny (albiet still a bit muddy) so I took it out to trim.....didn't need anything ! Glides well and I must have screwed up the alignment of something cause it already has a turn in it.

Needless to say, I'm looking forward to getting a launch in on this one and see how it performs.

Very nice!!

When I put together my Canaroc parts cloning sheet, I found two nosecones that were extremely close matches for Canaroc bnc100 cones. Does this help?

Thumbs up

Don, nice build.

My original even saw competition at the world championships in 1983.

The Nomad flies great, to great in my case as I lost it only to be lucky enough to have it found by a competitor. Close call

That looks great Leo! I'm hoping to fly mine in comp too. I think March is the next regional that has a boost glide event. I'm going to have to built a couple more and deck at least one of them out in the Canaroc theme.

You have any problem with the exhaust burning your wings? I haven't had a boost glider that has the pod so close to the glider.

No burning the wings but you will need to protect them as the paint will throw bubbles through the heat.

I see you did already. Don't forget to do the same on the tail section.

Yea, I was wondering if I needed to protect the stab too. Thanks.
