If Semroc could vac-form the wrap for the Orion, the Enerjet Athena could be just around the corner as both kits use the same wraps.

Off topic, but... didn't someone mention using some sort of corrugated craft paper for a wrap when building scale models? I wish I could remember where I read that, as I'd like to try it.

I think somebody here built an Orion using the corrugated guts of a piece of regular cardboard.

Was it Bob Thomas and the Orion he built in this thread: http://forums.rocketshoppe.com/show...t=Guess+Working .

Bob's Orion turned out beautiful! The craft stores carry corrugated cardstock for less than a dollar a sheet. I've seen some that have nearly the same corrugation as what Bob salvaged. I also have a dozen or more sheets of some cardstock that has fine corrugation, like what is used on the LJ II for example, perhaps even smaller. The nice thing about the vacuum form is having all those doo-dads pre made for you. Although, cloning this thing is certainly easier than a host of others I can think of. Very cool rocket. I'd love to see a Semroc version, even if it incorporated currugated cardstock and wood doo-dads for the wrap! I'd be on it like a fly on.....

Footnote on cardstock.
I think I found the cheapest source. My last Chicken Parmigian Hero (hoagie) came in a cardboard footlong clamshell container - yep, same corrugation as the card I used for the ORION. I'm getting the urge to build again so there may be an ATHENA in my future (even if she smells a little "Cheezy")

I found a pack of that corrugated paper in a dollar shop yesterday... I'm planning an Orion-like (but not really) BT-70 rocket using it and a set of Taurus fins from Semroc, which I just ordered.
Man did I order a lot of parts... between Semroc and Uncle Mike I just tripled my build queue.
