Winchell Chung's Atomic Rockets site
I wish I had posted this earlier. I'm moved to post it now due to tragedy.
Winchell Chung's Atomic Rockets website is an absolutely amazing resource on real-world and could-be space travel. An essential service for game designers and science fiction authors who want to depict realistic interplanetary and interstellar spacecraft: http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/index.php I've known OF Winchell Chung for about 45 years. As a teenager he started doing illustrations for the wargame and adventure game industry. His most famous illos are for Steve Jackson Games' OGRE. Since we started out in the hobby at the same time, it turned out we played a lot of the same games and could converse about the Olden Times on social media. I didn't know until a few years back that his father was a model rocketeer. "Winch" wasn't a rocketeer, but he knew all the classic models and could knowledgably converse about construction and finishing and flying. His father was a perfectionist. Winch recently revealed that he has what may be a terminal case of metastesized prostate cancer. He found someone to take over Atomic Rockets. I really hope he gets treatments that beat back the tumors. He is just about my age. Just terribly sad.

Oh, blast. The site is terrific, but he's better. I share the pain and the wishes for wellness.
