Interesting! "Electra" was the name of a series of clustered rockets I built around the time John was developing Flashbulb Cluster Ignition. I named them Electra because my parents owned a Buick Electra 225. Hehe... maybe John remembered the name stuck in the back of his head til recently!

Then again, maybe John just sold the business and not the facilities. If he's building new planes, then he'd need a similar facility. Last I heard, John still works for Boeing, but I don't know if that was just for a transition period. In any case, an office in Virginia may just be John's house, or he might have other space there.

Maybe you meant NARAM-50? NARAM-60, including the reunion, was in Pueblo, Colorado. I would't have driven to Virginia.

That Aurora's in Manassas now clarifies why TARC models (and motors) for the finals are shipped to Aurora for pickup at the Friday night briefing, which is at a middle school in Manassas as well.

Pat Fitzpatrick (pterodactyl on here) knows John Langford way better than I do....maybe he can bring us up to date on what John is up to besides some involvement in Estes and being the President of AIAA (assuming he still holds that position).

Thanks guys for the extra background on John and Aurora. Yes, maybe someone can chime in and shed some extra light on just what Estes is up to with this ‘aerospace’ wing of operations.

I've known John for fifty years come next month, but since '76 only talk to him at NARAMs we both attend, which since then have been only 43, 50, and 53!

I agree. I just haven't seen him post that or the correction to all the crepe paper conversations. He's slacking!
