Default Estes Super Nova Build

Finally had some good weather to paint the Estes Super Nova. Build is simple and I took some close ups of the fins post Brodak. After I built the rocket I shot the old formula Krylon Gloss black with no primer followed by Krylon Silver. Old formula Krylon does not come in silver so I had to use what I could find at the hardware store. Sorry about the lint on black finish, I just took off the mask and have not wiped it down yet. I will wipe it down before applying the decals tomorrow. For sealing the fins, I applied a coat of Brodak, waited 15 min and brushed on a second coat. Let it dry for 45 min and sanded, then brushed on just one coat of Brodak. Another 45 min I sanded smooth and that's it she was ready for paint. The booster fins can be turned upside down for a traditional looking 2 stage rocket.

Another nice build!

I enjoy flying this one. The forward swept booster fins are actually one of the cool features of the design. The booster tumbles nicely after staging.

Finished my Estes Super Nova, now onto my next Estes build. The decals went on with no issues.
