Kenya, anyone?
Apparently I'm about to lose a bet that I don't remember making and I may have to do a job in Nairobi, Kenya.
I have no idea what to expect. Have any of you been there? I hope it's not worse than southern India. Thanks.

Stay there long enough to become acclimated to the nearly 6,000 ft elevation. Come back and challenge everyone not living in Denver to a 3k or 5k race!

I didn't even think about the elevation. That's what kicked my butt in Ecuador and it took me three days to get acclimated.

Well you better be ready to get more than the Jab. I would not set foot there myself, and would need to get many many vaccines. I hate Shots! I know any vaccines I had as a child or in my younger days would be useless by now. Other than the J&J Covid vaccine I don't do shots.

+1 tho what Neal just said above.
MANY vaccines needed. Ebola, Hemmorhagic fever, Marburg virus, etc are very REAL THREATS in Africa. Take a PASS on that job, REALLY.

Frankly, Jeff, I would go in a heartbeat. Kenya is one of the most amazing places on the planet. Lions and tigers and elephants and hippos and giraffes and zebras and jackals all just running around in wide open spaces.
I have no idea what it is like to work in Nairobi, but I know visiting Kenya is a bucket list item for a lot of people, me included. Vaccine up, and go with joy! And when the work part is done, go on a safari. Steve |

I'll check with Passport Health and see what they recommend for jabs. Some of my jabs for southern India may still be viable.
I have to decide if the bonus loot is worth the potential risk---plus I've never been to Africa. I've navigated around it and many times have shot the Straits of Gibraltar, but we never visited a port on the southern Med coast.

Jeff just had an Idea. Check with the V.A. you might be able to get a multi injection, do they still use the air gun to give multi vaccines at the same time? I know I am old school.

That's a good question. The last time I had a transdermal gun vaccine was the "A" shot in boot camp, summer of 1978.
