And so Flight Day came and went. I discovered my launcher rig is ill-suited to trying to fire two Estes "starters" at once. I also learned my wadding-and-chute packing skills are awful. I forgot my streamer, so no NARTREK test flights. Plus I learned my "range crew" can't use an AltiTrak well, so I figure I'm back to the drawing board for something that I don't need wadding for and will carry an altimeter.

But! Here are two photos of the varmint in question. I'm content with it.

Oh, and the launch site on a weekday morning was nicely empty. We saw one vehicle, one jogger, one collie, and one cow. It's not flat, but tripod legs adjust for such things nicely.

I did see those, and they're nice. But I've had my heart set on a chinchilla version since last May. The fins are SEMROC's, and the body is cut-down from a Baby Bertha as any retro-Goony should be. Clay nose weights secured with original Gorilla Glue.

I tried to touch up the edges of my stickers with Sharpie, but it looks like that also succeeded in dissolving the adhesive at the edges. Gotta go back with some thin CA, I expect, before putting down the acrylic coat.
