Default Ovaltine...

A rocket with no flat fins. It does have one oval tube fin.

The tube fin started out as a BT/C-60 that was formed into an oval.

It's a 24mm min diameter with standard deployment of the chutes.

A BT-50H is used for the fuselage, backed up with a C-50 ahead of the motor.

Nose cone was turned on my wood lathe from a 1" dia. pine dowel.

Centerlines were drawn on the BT-50 and the Oval Tube, then Titebond II applied.

A BT-3 is used for the launch lug. 45 degree ends were cut on my chop saw.

A 1-1/4" long x 1/4" dia. dowel is used for Kevlar shock chord.

Glue fillets are built up using Titebond II.

Default Nose Cone Reduex

I didn't like the flat nose cone so I turned a Ramjet nose cone. Also cut a piece of 3/8-16 stud to use as ballast.

Default Sanded CWF - 2nd Coat of Primer - Orange Top Coat - White Top Coat

I sanded the CWF, took some photos, shot the 2nd coat of primer, this time using Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer.

Waited 15 minutes and then top coated the fuselage with Rustoleum Gloss Orange.

Waited 15 minutes and sprayed Rustoleum Gloss White on the nose cone and the tip of the fuselage.

How did you get the fin tube so perfectly oval? Did you use some kind of mandrel to form it?
