This is an early design from before I started using RockSim. It was a TLAR composition, but when I finally built one (for 13mm engines, as this plan shows) it flew great, without any tweaking. The original was designed around 18mm engines, but those produce far too much power for a model this small.

It may even qualify as a "Schoolyard Sounder"...

Notes about the components:

• The avionics hump is one piece of balsa. It is shown as two in the RKT file, due to the tapering at the front. It is 6" long, 5/16" tall, and 1/2" wide.
• The hump needs to be concave-shaped on the bottom surface, to match the curve of the tube.
• I used a streamer, but the optimum parachute is an 8", with 10" shrouds.
• The two sub-fins are a carry-over from the original. They are not required for stability, but they look good.
• Two fin sheets are required.

A3-4T..........~530'......Dv ~17 FPS


The A10-3T is not recommended due to excessive Dv. The 1/4 A3-3T is usable for tight areas. The altitude is below 90'.
