The nose cone that was to be used for the booster is available.

If the Estes release is the issue, probably next summer at the earliest.

Also interesting, eRockets/Semroc currently produces both the Mars Snooper and the Orbital Transport at the original scale. Estes came out with slightly larger versions based on BT-55 called "Super". I would not see a problem, other than confusion and cannibalizing sales, with the even larger ST-20 "Pro" versions from Semroc. Estes also uses the "Pro" moniker for their bigger stuff, which also adds to the confusion. The price point of the ST-20 Semroc "Pro" versions might also be an issue, but anyone buying these understands all this. Clear as mud!

Apparently the business arrangement may be that eRockets will not issue a kit if Estes has the same or similar kit in production, but Estes can/will issue if eRockets has a a same or similar kit.

Speculation - look for the reissue of the "retro-repro" Goblin kit.

I'd like a Goblin KIT the size of the old Estes MEGA Der Red Max.
Would not oppose a 4" Orbital Transport either.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC !

YOU would like a Goblin KIT the size of the original North Coast Hobgoblin (8-inch).

If it can't fly under a small H that does not require a waiver, it's too big for me.
Would be interesting though.

Hmm, my current speculation is that Estes is going to release a Pro Goblin using the 3” Red Max nose cone.

We get the dinky one from Estes instead of a real worthwhile sized upscale.

It's not that hard to choose roughly what size you want, check for tube ratios and nose shapes that would fit, then make your own.

DL the plans/templates from JimZ's site, and scale up & print the patterns as appropriate.
------------

I shoulda said that before. Oh, I did, message #25.

Just build your own. To whatever size, and quit whining here demanding a kit to the exact size you want.

Same for the a freaking bigger Goblin. Make one of whatever size. If only the the big Red Max and the Goblin shared the same basic nose shape. Oh..... they do (don't expect Estes to do a bigger Goblin using a brand new nose when a "close enough" existing one would do, IF they ever come out with a 3" Goblin).

The new 1.64X size Orbital Transport seems the perfect size for a D12 powered scale-up. It's not "dinky". Estes will sell far more of those than they would a larger model needing E or F power. And a lot of people will be happy flying that size of O.T. model on a D12.

George - so you are saying here, in other words, be like a rocketry hobbyist? Who actually builds and flies model rockets? I think you've crossed the line here mister.

I just prefer kits to cloning by gathering the parts on my own.
Carl's Semroc spoiled me into that.
