Are those Midgets originals? They have a patina of age like I'd expect the real deal to have.

Good stuff, thanks. I flew more mini-brutes back in the day, since they were cheaper, especially the motors. I still regularly fly clones of the Beta, and still have my original Mini-Bomarc, though it's pretty rough. I didn't realize the Midget shrunk, that just doesn't look right!

Yes they are, when in High School, my older brother had gotten a Midget, and I liked it so much the next year, I ordered one, not thinking about the Mini engine change. I was shocked, and originally a little disappointed when mine came in as the Mini-Brute. |

I just finished up a MAxi-Icarus. Its a little different than the original. Created an Arduino payload that measures temperature down the side of the body tube. That also meant creating a payload adapter for the conduit that covers the temperature sensors.
Haven't had a chance to fly it yet. Will need a really calm day to prevent weather cocking.

Wolf,
Great job on your presentation about the history of the Estes Mini-Brute product line. I have not seen this posted anywhere but I have attached a handout that came with the June 1971, Volume 11, #2, of Estes Model Rocket News. I think this may have been a handout at trade shows.
