No.....but obviously, he only takes pictures when the moon is in a certain phase......so, is there some kind of rocket-moon relationship here? Rocket....moon.....?

Great stuff Leo!

Can you share the brand of paint you used to finish them off? I've got a good backlog going myself, including the Estes Defender, a couple of Golden Scouts, a QModeling Viper, and three Estes Colonial Viper clones, all naked because I hate the new spray paint formulas.

I just take mine outside at night and launch them. Of course, I should mention that I've perfected high performance miniature liquid fuel rocket engines which are much more photoesque.

Thumbs up

If I were to hazard a guess, I would say he is either taking a picture with the rocket on the stand or just laying them down on the kitchen table. Take the picture from whatever angle and photoshop it out.

I have a harder time finding good pictures of the sky than doing the picture.

tbzep; I see your's have afterburners too. I haven't figured out where to get those in there!

Dupli-Color DECO LINE is the paint of choice. It has the best finish IMHO. However you need allot of patience as the paint need time to dry.

Also, do a search for the user "Scigs30". He uses other brands with great results.

Thanks Leo! I'm going to try the Dupli-Color DECO LINE. If my results are half as good as yours I'll be very happy.

Yep, I have another finished rocket I can show to the public

This one is a rather newer build started in early 2008 and got finished last Sunday.

ALL parts are original ESTES with the exception of the nose block which comes from Semroc and the decals courtesy Scigs30 (Thanks again David!)

The Icarus is probably my second favorite Estes rocket and comes in first emotionally.

I thought it was a must to build the Maxi version as I am not prepared to spend lots' $$$ for an original. And if you really look at it you wouldn't know it's a copy, trust me

Hope you enjoy the pictures I made just an hour ago:

On a sadder note: My original Estes Icarus is still without decals. My build priorities are definitely off course

Leo, Another nice build, I am glad the decal worked for you. I am jealous of your photography skills and your build skills.

As always, beautiful build and pics! Is that last photo a photoshop or did you stick the rocket
into the ground this time?! Maybe I need to enroll in a college course in "The Art
of Photoshop," with Leo being my professor!!
