Thumbs up Arrowhead

Heres the Arrowhead I built. Flew just fine, if not low, on a 1/2A3-4T. Adding a tad of nose weight to make ROCKSIM happy, and an Altimeter Two did not help...

Nice. Am I mistaken or did you stretch the body length a bit? Looking at JP's original 3D renderings from RockSim, his tube appears much shorter (even looking at the image in perspective) than yours.

(The original file says 8"...)

Well I'll be honest, I was trying to minimize nose weight and keep ROCKSIM happy. So yes I did. To no avail, in the end I had to add a tad of weight anyway. At least to keep ROCKSIM happy.

I still think it looks cool. I could have just gone stock, but I did not want to take a chance. See when building rockets 'outside the norm', an RSO is gonna REALLY remember your butt if you bring up an odd(er) rocket and it goes wonky. So took no chances.

Besides, like I said, it still looks cool and is still an Arrowhead. I'd never claim it to be anything else. Credit where it is due and all that!

Hey, no apologies needed. I do the same thing often with my designs. Paper tubes weigh much less than leadshot, and often the final design looks better than what I envisioned! I don't think JP will mind your revision. That's how we learn stuff.

Jeff,

Nicely done! Excellent job on that paint scheme, and the silver bands are a *very* nice touch!

Cheers,
.
