Michigan is great for about 6 months of the year, tolerable for two more months, and absolutely ROTTEN for 4 months due to crappy winter weather.
Once we retire, we will either be snowbirds or permanently residing in Florida. Would much rather run the A/C than a furnace.

Very true. I remember when the same could be said of our local McDonald's, but that was back in the days when every table had an ashtray. Not doing much fast food these days, but if we were, Culver's is exactly the kind of place I'd pick.

I was born and raised in the heat of Texas and spent nine years in the winters of Minnesota. I prefer Texas weather, despite the heat and A/C bills. However, remember this.... in MN you can always throw on another coat or another log on the fire to stay warm. In Texas, there is only so much you can take off before you get arrested! :-) :-)

Having lived in both Michigan and Florida I agree. I have lived in South Florida for 41 years, we are going to retire and will move North near Gainesville, the weather stays cooler up there for about 8-9 months of the year. then you reside in H3ll, just like most of Florida. In July, August and September it gets hotter near Gainesville then down here in Broward County, ( no ocean or gulf breeze ) . Best thing is being a collage town that area has everything an old duff like I needs. World Class Hospitals, Rural Supply, 4 Rivers BBQ and Culvers.

We will be somewhere near Tampa or Fort Myers.
Gotta be close to the Gulf.

Today, I went by my local Hobby Lobby and found one last remaining Cadet kit for $3.59, so I got it, which was a savings of $5.40 off of the Hobby Lobby "Your Price" of $8.99. While there, I noticed that Hobby Lobby had restocked several of their rocket kits and had added a few new ones. Most noticeable was the Destination Mars Leaper for $14.99 each. I was actually surprised to see how small it is and also to see how it seems to be lacking in the normal quality of other Estes kits, since it is almost all Styrofoam. I did not purchase it. I have wondered about these little kits, especially the "Mars" series ones. I agree a lot of Estes isn’t what it used to be,,, but then, what is....
