Unhappy I just heard about Carl's passing

The news hit me like a ton of bricks Carl and the rest of the team he put together have filled my shelves full of the most fun designs and along the way they led me from newbie to Lvl 2. Always helpful and generous to all my issues and didn't berate all the operator errors based on the malfunction between and above my shoulders. God Bless you Carl and the Semroc Team. I'm am so sorry for your loss. Please let me know where I can send my condolences.

Default 'til we meet again...

My wife and I had the honor of meeting Carl & Sheryl at NARAM-55 this past July. Carl seemed to be a humble man, yet had a passion for helping others get the most out of "model astronautics". Everyone at SEMROC is in our prayers, may God bless and comfort you all. And to you Carl, thanks so much for everything you have "brought back" to so many BARs. 'Til we meet again...

I found about this just now.

I had the great privilege of meeting Carl, Sheryl and Bruce at NARCON 2009 and then again later that year at NARAM-51. He was a truly great man and a tremendous source of inspiration for me. Carl was one of the warmest, most gracious and generous people that I have ever met. What he gave to all of us can never be replaced. I always felt that the world was a better place because Carl was here. That will be his lasting legacy.

I will miss him terribly.

Thank you, Carl, thank you, for everything.

Default Thoughts on Carl

Hard to believe it has been this long. I was going through a binder of decals yesterday and out slipped an 8.5 x 11 sheet of small laser cut self adhesive elipses. I sat for a moment and wondered what these hundreds of elliptical stickers were for. Then it came to me. I used to build the Pershing 1a regularly and the blow out ports on the second stage is pretty noticeable. I asked Carl about cutting some for me and in the next order was this rolled sheet. Carl was one of the most amazing gentlemen. He ran a business with love for the hobby and a complete commitment to supporting his customers in any way possible.

I miss him every time I cut balsa and cardboard and will always be grateful for Carl's help and immense good nature. Thoughts with his family as always.

Sorely missed.

John;

Your eloquent note captures Carl's nature so well, and so succinctly. And it conjures a number of warm memories and stories of my own. One of the most meaningful to me is the time spent developing our club's anniversary kit with Carl, followed by my wife and I spending a weekend with Carl and Miss Sheryl kitting it at their home.

Remarkable folks, and difficult to find their kind anywhere. Which is what made, and makes, them such a treasure as friends, and so deeply missed in the hobby.

Your note is well appreciated;

John

Yes, it really is hard to believe it is coming up on the six year mark. The entire Semroc team was such a treasure to the rocketry community, especially us more 'senior' members.

It leaves such a hole in our rocketry family, though I think of Sheryl often, because I know the empty spot in oir hearts does not compare to what she has experienced. After being with someone for decades, that spot does not heal over quickly, if ever. Prayers and blessings to her for sure. It is nice that she still pops in here and makes comments from time to time.
