Holy Thread Drift Batman!!!

Problem with that is if it's a nice, numbers matching vintage muscle car, converting it to Fuel Injection will severely hurt it's value - most collectors want it as close to stock as humanly possible.
Hence the attraction of a resto-mod. Find a clean body with trashed suspension and running gear and replace all that with modern stuff. The modern suspensions, brakes, engines, and tranni's are worlds better than even the best stuff 50 years ago.
I had a 1967 Pontiac Tempest (same body as the GTO without the powertrain - hence my desire for a '67 GTO). OK car for the day, but the suspension was not so hot and the brakes were absolutely frightening (small drums all around in a 2 ton car). I lived in Colorado so mountain driving was not uncommon and the horrid brakes required extraordinary care - especially when loaded with a carload of skiing friends.

One can now get Boss 429 style "Hemi Heads" that will fit any Ford 429/460 block.
The original ones would only fit special "Boss" blocks that had whacky oil return passages.
The heads are about $3500, but have much higher flow potential than any "wedge" style head.

Mustangs have to be specially modified to fit the wide engine.
Not easy to do a "resto mod/clone" Boss 429 Mustang.
They will fit in Ford Torinos and 70-76 Thunderbirds due to wider engine compartments.

The Ford 427 SOHC is great, but extremely high $$$ now. You can't convert any FE427 to a SOHC like you can convert any 429/460 to a "Boss" with a head swap. Far too complex.
The 427 SOHC has an over 6 FOOT LONG timing chain that is prone to stretching as well.
Neat powerplant, but give me a Boss 429/460 instead.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC !

Another ON TOPIC entry: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2551293277...AAOSwbRthOsy 9

In case this seller pulls his/her head out of the clouds (or some place darker), the listing price was $999.99 when I posted this!

This is the second item this seller has listed at that price. The first was a Centuri Screaming Eagle kit in a plain kit bag with no face card, like how they were kitted when they came in a starter set. That item is now gone.

The only thing I can figure is they are listing these for someone in particular to purchase with a ‘best offer’ price. The ‘insane’ Buy It Now of $999 is there to ensure that no one else purchases it before the ‘intended’ buyer sees it and makes the best offer.

The coyote engine is pretty big with those overhead cams and is getting stuffed in a lot of old Mustangs, so I bet they have the process in place that would allow a 429 to go in pretty quickly now days. I know it's not the same block, but top end width is as big an issue as anything.
