I find it really cool that quest reissued this kit, with a different name. I got a few of the quest fin units a while back and one was really warped, so beware.

Your number is probably from the early 70s I guess, no? Mine — 29523 — is from June, 1978, about two years after I started active flying.

Buzz, yours must be from the latter 60s, maybe?

I have always loved the MPC Nike Patriot. I still have 2 or 3 kits in the attic. I have one that I built decades ago that I finished as a sounding rocket - olive drab Nike booster - and a more recent one (about a decade ago) that the Pod Bay Doors used as a Spot Landing and Predicted Altitude competition bird.

Old NAR numbers? Hold my beer.

Great looking build, Ed! Love the white and orange colors. My second build as a kid was the Astron Drifter, painted white, with orange fins and nose cone. I have been thinking about doing an upscale to either BT-80 or Estes 3” tubing, using the same scheme, after seeing a post on the Drifter in the FB groups yesterday.

That Drifter was a heartbreaker. It came with both 12” and 24” chutes. Guess which one the 12 year old me used?

Turns out it was more of a “climber” than a “drifter”. It disappeared on its maiden flight.

Another upscale I would like to do is the old Estes Rogue. I've always liked that design.

That's a definite 'Way Back Machine' NAR number!
I've always had an affinity for those old MPC kits.
Other favorites are the Flare Patriot and Theta Cajun.
Both are on my 'old fleet' re-build list. Speaking of the 'old fleet re-build' list, a Flybaby B/G is also in the queue ..
