+1 Tiny little dots until it's filled in. Just beware that Sharpie ink will have a slightly different sheen under direct light.

True.

The Big Bertha entered during NARAM 56's decorating contest was painted that Tuesday and Wednesday over years old primer.

The Valspar spray paint is still a bit tacky! It was wrapped into a hotel ice bucket bag (think dry cleaner's bags) for the trip home.
So now, the paint, mainly on the body tube is lightly textured. Lots of small to medium specks of the black paint stuck to the bag.

Sharpie to the rescue!

An original Wizard, not just one painted in the original scheme. This is the first original I've built since the 70's, a one flight wonder on a C6 from my front yard.

Semroc Swift with a couple of homemade decals. It's supposed to be white with a black cone and black cherry fin can, but the black cherry was more black then cherry. I also should have made the decals bigger, but you live and learn, then forget all over again.

The first of three MRC rockets I've finished, the oddly named Wildfire. These were three of the worst rockets I've ever built. The tubes were like rolled typing paper, the tube connector was a piece of body tube, and the self stick decals had long ago lost any inclination to self stick. I scanned them, then printed out a set using my inkjet. Far better than the originals, and they didn't even turn out that well. I couldn't do any spiral or seam work because the tubes couldn't hold up to the pressure of sanding.

Yeah, those MRC kits were real pigs. Nice job on yours, though.

Thanks. Considering what I had to work with, I'm not unhappy with the final results.

The Wildfire was the one and only MRC kit I ever bought. Thin tubes, poor parts fit, pitifully warped fins. I don't think I ever flew it. It was long ago thrown into the "I don't care what happens to it" pile.
