Teri wrote a book years ago.
I found a copy at a drug store in SW Florida marked down to $5.00.
It was a good read.
One favorite chapter was titled "Quityourbitching".
I think I still have my copy.

A sad story about Teri Garr.
Back in the 90's and early 2000's when I was going to Sci-Fi conventions, one con named "Rebel Con" in Massachusetts
, I got to know the woman who created and ran the con.

Mary was always open to suggestion on guest. I mentioned Teri Garr.
Mary got a hold of Teri's spokesperson and made her request for Teri to be a guest.
The spokesperson relayed Teri's response verbatim.

"Hell no! I don't want to be in a room full of sci-fi nuts and kooks!"

So sad she felt that way.

For those of you who don't know the process of getting a guest to attend a "con", it takes weeks or months to get in contact and talk to that guest.
If the guest agrees to be at the con, all arrangements are made by the con person with half the guest fee upfront.
Everything is paid for by the con person except any alcohol and tobacco the guest consumes.
If there was more than one guest(and usually there were) it got expensive.

Mary told me a story about one guest having a companion and trying to get the "con" to reimburse him!
Mary did not reveal his name and he was never invited back.

These are from the unofficial/official Letterman archivist, Don Giller (or Donz, as we call him).
If he edited any more than what is necessary (un-cleared clips/music/etc.), he'd get raked over the coals by fans who want to see things exactly as they happened. And if you mean they should have been edited more closely at time of production, then you don't know why Letterman was so popular in the 80's. It is precisely because of those awkward moments, the pregnant pauses, the off-camera distractions (what would eventually be known as "Network Time Killers").


We were all young once.



I get the feeling Teri doesn't have a fully operating social filter (she'll either tell you exactly what she thinks or she'll simply leave you guessing), which is probably why Dave likes her so much.

In watching these clips, you can see the progression of her MS, which wasn't diagnosed until 1999, but you can see it affecting her ten years earlier.

Would have loved to see a Star Trek spin off series chronicling the adventures of Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln. I think it would have been a big hit.
I remember both Terri Garr and Diane Keaton appearing many times on the late night talk shows.
They both had a charming, quirky type of personality that appealed to the late night crowd.
