Quest Falcon kit
I noticed on the Quest website that there is a new Falcon kit with a new livery. Can’t seem to find it anywhere though. Has anyone seen this kit for sale anywhere?

I purchased the revised Falcon kit direct from Quest several months ago.

I picked one up at a HobbyTown USA a couple months ago. Built it, launched 3 times, D22-7, E26-7, D22-7. The last flight was never seen coming down. It's an improvement over the old kit, but the cool looking decals were the best part. Though I got them on OK, the vinyl they're made of is really too stiff. The included 18-24mm adapter doesn't work if built to the instructions, and has the soft yellow 18mm motor tube, but I didn't expect to use it anyway. The chute material is improved, less stiff than the old material, but the included shock cord is way too short. And I really wish the fin can was white instead of yellow, could've got away with no painting if it was white.
Anyhow, it flies nicely on the 24mm Q-Jets.

I just finished up the Quest Falcon build on my blog:
http://modelrocketbuilding.blogspot...abel/Q%20Falcon I address a concern about the stickers and how to fit them around a molded "rod" at the fin root edge. The 18mm engine mount should be made with the centering rings at the ends of the motor mount tube. The lower ring would need a notch cut out to allow engine hook flex.

Those are the new(ish) 24mm Quest by Aerotech QJets - though they make an E26 not an E22, which I assume is a typing error by the person who posted that entry in this thread. They’re fun motors - at least the E26 is, I haven’t used the D22 yet - not really more power than a BP Estes E but they burn faster and sound different plus they’re 70mm long versus 95mm like the Estes E. |

The Quest Q-Jet 24mm motors work great in many rockets with 24mm motor mounts.
In fact, the E26-4W motor works very well in the smaller AeroTech kits (Mustang, Arreaux, Cheetah). Here's a picture of an Arreaux launching on an E26-4W motor. While the E26 does not have the same total impulse as an AeroTech E20 or E30 motor at an SRP $11.00 LESS than a pack of E20/E30 motors that is a benefit.

erockets has product pages for the newly re-issued and updated Falcon and Icarus, but only the Icarus is showing in stock. I would imagine when the updated Terrier Orion becomes available that will also be carried at erockets. They are my go to vendor.
