It's the same kit as the Centuri / SEMROC Astro-1. Body tube is ST-10 (1.04" diameter), and I believe the nose cone is the long 5.2" version. SEMROC has the kit available with laser-cut fins.

The only (important) differences between the Estes version and the Centuri version are the paint scheme and whatever decals might have been included.

Are you certain this was ST-10 based ? and not 'updated' to BT50 ?

I'd like to clone this one myself, always thought it was BT50 based, as catalog photos do look like PNC-50YR.

Inquiring minds......

I built the original a couple of years ago and I am sure it has the Bt-50 and the two piece PNC-50 YR nose cone........The body tube is the Bt-50W...9.5 inches

Ya know, that was one of those "woulda - coulda - shoulda" moments when I hit the 'SEND' button...

I thought the catalog page indicated the larger diameter of ST-10, but if sigs30 has built one and says it was BT-50, then I'll defer to his hard evidence. I just went back to Ninfinger and looked at the only two catalog entries (1989 and 1990) where the model was listed, and neither actually indicate the diameter - just a length of "over 16". So much for presuming...

I need to update the Extended Kit List now. The body tube size is listed there as ST-10. My thought was Estes was still 'burning off' some excess stock from the pseudo-merger with Centuri...

BTW -- Nice build, sigs!

Scigs did you possibly scan those decals? If so could you possibly post them?
Thanks Bob

I can confirm what Scigs reported - the airframe is indeed a BT-50W, 9.5" long, and the nose is none other than the ubiquitous PNC-50YR.

I've scanned my decal sheet and have sent it to Scott (can't post it here as it's too large); perhaps he can make an emergency upload to the plans site.

Scott - I can provide a scan of the rest of the instructions, etc, if you need them.
