Though John has flown rockets from an early age, he's mostly an R/C guy. There aren't any employees left at Estes from the early 70's for him to ask, either. His tenure at Estes has only been from the Tunick years forward. In other words, he probably has a similar historical perspective of the golden years as some of the older YORF members, and considerably less than a few members such as Ed Brown, who was hired by Estes in 1966.

Actually, there's some (working in early 70's Estes employes) of them still around. Not as many as before (obviously). I've heard a couple of names dropped in conversations with Estes's people that are still there.

Nothing in black in the BT-60 size.
I did come across a white injected molded capsule nose cone that doesn't fit any BT I have. This seam odd to me. I don't even remember where I got it. Maybe some Ebay nose cone buy some years back? |
