Minotaur I scale data (links)
Hello All,
Having just watched videos of yesterday’s (at this hour in Alaska) Minotaur I launch (of the NROL-111 payload, whatever it—or they—are: https://www.youtube.com/results?sea...taur+I+NROL-111 ) from Wallops Island, I became curious about this vehicle, and found its users’ guide online (see: https://www.northropgrumman.com/wp-...ser-Guide-2.pdf [it is on *this* https://www.northropgrumman.com/space/minotaur-rocket/ website, which also has the other Minotaur vehicles’ users’ guides]), and: Not only does the users’ guide contain adequate scale data for building flying scale models of both Minotaur I variants (with the 50” Pegasus—or 61” bulbous—payload fairing), but it also shows, in a dimensioned drawing, the Minotaur I Commercial vehicle. It uses a Castor 120 first stage, with all three of the Pegasus XL vehicle’s Orion series rocket motors above it, topped by the 61” diameter payload fairing.
