Can you please measure the diameter of the clear payload tube? Is it BT-50 or the very slightly larger 25mm? Since the large clear fluorescent tube protectors are slightly larger than BT-60, it would be perfect either way.

It is the transparent version of the MRI / MPC / AVI T-25 tube.

The early Quest tubes were identical or close to these. From Ninfinger:

T2518 18.00" 0.944" 0.984" 0.02"

The length of the clear section is 4".

An upscale with TTW basswood fins, vented staging, and long couplers would be a nice tribute.

Looking good Stephan, this will be helpful, when I get around to building one of these from my stash. The only MPC kits I've built are Mini-Rocs.

Major step:

After sanding the final coat of filler (Ceramcoat) -- on both fins and tube -- I spritzed on a coat of Kilz primer.

This is going to dry for a week. Maybe more!

After sanding that, another coat of primer goes on!

I want the tube nice and smooth, because it will get finished with silver paint, per the box illustration. This is difficult to pull off, but I really want to bonk eyes with the kit.

I also painted the coupler silver, and put a strip of black tape on the top and bottom of the clear tube, to cover the coupler and nose cone shoulders.
