Thumbs up Semroc CR-78 centering rings

Jim,

I'm not sure how you missed them, unless you didn't know exactly where to look.

Here they are, CR-78 centering rings direct from Semroc, just like we had "back in the day" from Centuri:

It still shows up in RockSim as a centering ring, however...

Cheers,

I've used Semroc's version many times, too. They have a complete motor mount kit . But the 'rings' are very thin, and when you don't have any on hand, they are relatively simple to 'fudge' with label stock. I've also used strips of cardstock with yellow glue, but the label stock is so much easier (not to mention being less messy).

Either way you go, there's not much of a gap between the OD of an ST-7 and the ID of the ST-8...

Red face New Design: 5820 Ugly

Craig,

Okay, I wasn't going to release Version 3, but since you insist, that one we can count as Number 501. (At least 5820 D was #500. *That's* what I was trying to accomplish.)

(cough, cough) That's what I get for getting in a hurry. Here's 5820 Ugly (or "%*@) ugly" if you reverse the caps lock) WITH the 3/4" launch lug tucked neatly under the ST-2010 ring fin.

--I'll need to update 5820 A through D after adding the launch lugs. Just FYI.

Exclamation Fresh off the sketchpad...

I am still without the benefit of a working RockSim right now, but I want to share some raw sketches of ideas that I plan to work up as soon as RS9 is available. These won't be officially added to the list until they have a RKT plan to work from.

More to come...

Exclamation More from the sketchpad...

Another batch of ten ideas. Three of these need names, which I seem to be having more trouble coming up with lately. One of these three has a pre-used name...

Thumbs up Cool!

Cool designs Craig!! Wow! I will be chomping at the bit to see those designs in 3D. With designs like that I should be able to get some good spin off variations and we will have even more designs to add to the pile.

And to think, once I have these in RKT format, that will give us 531...

Only 69 more to reach 600...

and 469 to reach 1000...

Thumbs up New design: Sonar 7

From the "Comments" section of the attached RockSim 8 file:

+++

This is the logical and (un) natural mutation from my original "5820" design (version A, 11 Mar 2005, which proved unstable), and is hereby dedicated to Bill "Wallyum" Eichelberger, who wanted to see the 5820 take flight.

Named after my audio recording software (Cakewalk SONAR 7) because it has 7 tube fins. The logo font is "TR-909," after a Roland drum machine.

This design was too heavy for single 18mm motors, so I bumped it up to 24mm.
