In theory that's a possibility, except that in reality it's so far not been the case. 3D printing has presented no barrier to new entrants in scale competition, nor has it unduly advantaged or disadvantaged any competitor, at least not based on the entries I've seen at the last few NARAMs, or the models that have finished in the top places. It's been an interesting premise you've proposed, but it's flawed and not supported by the facts witnessed at NARAM.

John, Based on your observations at NARAM, how would you know which modelers did not enter Craftsmanship events, because of being intimidated by the use of 3D printing on entries. You would have never seen their models, at all. What source of data did you use to determine who did not enter and why ? Dave F |

It occurs to me that I could ask of you the same question.
